Snack foods definitely don't have to be expensive for you to lose weight, and these healthy and affordable snacks can help you keep the weight off without having to spend much money. Junk foods are often priced lower than some whole foods to make them more affordable, but there are dozens of great inexpensive whole food options that make great alternatives to junk food. Look for low fat organic varieties, or if you eat the full fat varieties make sure that they are at the very least organic. Apples provide 14% of your daily vitamin C intake, and they are also an excellent source of potassium. Be sure to eat the skin of the apples as you would with a pear. The soluble fiber in apples will keep you full until your next meal and maintain a health cholesterol and triglyceride profile. It's hard to eat too many apples, and if you don't like eating them raw there are also dozens of recipes, including natural applesauce recipes with no added sugar or Stevia and more.
Eggs regularly come up on lists of the best weight loss foods and they are no longer demonized by nutritionists like they were in the past. You don't have to worry about the cholesterol in eggs because there is no proven direct link between dietary cholesterol from high quality sources and blood cholesterol. Eggs are one of the best weight loss snacks as they are rich in protein, and you can eat them yolk and all. They are an inexpensive snack and very easy to make, and are the perfect breakfast or midday meal when combined with other whole foods. Making 6 to 12 boiled eggs is incredibly easy, and they last for several days in the refrigerator. Be sure to only eat free range organic eggs which don't cost much more than regular eggs and have a higher amount of healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
