You might feel pressed to lose weight quickly because of an upcoming event, wedding, or just the spring or summer, but there is a right way and a wrong way to lose weight. Trying unproven methods and diets that are unsafe or created by people without a medical background can be dangerous to your health and may result in serious health problems and side effects. It's important that you use a proven diet if you are trying to lose weight like the HCG diet and that you have some sort of medical supervision if you're trying to rapidly lose weight, no matter what your weight loss goals are.

Most people can safely lose around 10 to 15 pounds of weight in one month, and that's really the maximum safe rate of weight loss. Those who are on the six-week HCG diet have a longer period of time for the diet to work and they often lose anywhere from 25 to 40 pounds, depending on how consistent they are with the diet. There really is no evidence that other diets are equally effective while being safe, and when you try to push your weight loss too far it can easily backfire.

Plan your weight loss ahead of time

If you have an event coming up or another reason to lose weight, don't wait until the last minute to start taking action. The sooner that you start the better, and a round of the HCG diet takes just three weeks so if you at least give yourself that amount of time you'll be able to lose around 10 to 15 pounds within three weeks or so.

If you have more time then you might even be able to start another round of the diet if you have more weight to lose, but waiting until you have just a month or two before your big event will just stress you out and encourage you to try something dangerous and drastic.

No matter what, you have to use a method that is safe and proven to work, and be sure to avoid using any products that are not FDA approved and even many of the ones that are. Most weight loss products contain caffeine and other stimulants that really don't do anything that a cup of coffee or green tea wouldn't do, and the other ingredients can cause side effects or allergic responses.

Don't exercise and do a low calorie diet at the same time

You can only safely do one or the other. Exercising without adequate nutrition can result in side effects like dizzy spells and muscle breakdown, because the chances are that you haven't eaten enough before or after your workout to supply your body with the energy that it needs for muscle repair.

You're not going to get any better results by adding exercise to a very low calorie diet, so be sure that you are focusing more on your diet when you have restricted your calories in any way. The only exception is if you are only slightly restricting your calories, in that case you may be able to exercise as you normally do, but you should still speak with your medical provider to make sure that it's safe. A very low calorie diet like the HCG diet can be a great way to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time but you have to avoid most forms of exercise until you get to Phase 3 when your calorie limit goes up slightly.

Every person is different

Some people lose weight quickly when they are dieting but also gain it back quickly, while other people lose weight at a more gradual pace. Because of the fact that everyone is different, one person's rate of weight loss on the same diet might be substantially different than another person's.

Although you can expect to lose a large amount of weight on the HCG diet, you should keep in mind that there is no way to anticipate exactly how much weight that you'll lose and several factors influence your weight loss including how well you stick to the diet's protocol, your age, genetics, and more. It's more important to focus on following the protocol rather than your results, as you'll lose the maximum amount of weight safely.

Stay away from unproven diets

You don't want to have to spend time at the doctor or the hospital just because of a diet or a weight loss product, so be sure to stick to a proven diet like the HCG diet. The HCG diet is designed to work as fast as possible in terms of helping you lose weight and get back to a normal and healthy weight.
