The high fat and protein content of avocados makes them very filling even in small quantities, and they are very easy to prepare in a wide range of simple recipes like guacamole, salsa, sandwich toppings, or in salads. Broccoli's antioxidants and phytochemicals also help reduce inflammation in the body, which in turn can make it more difficult to gain weight. One cup of broccoli is a great source of several vitamins as a side benefit including vitamin C, magnesium, B vitamins, and omega 3 fatty acids, and one serving just has 40 calories.
Raspberries are higher in fiber than many other berries including blueberries, and one cup of raspberries has a huge 8 grams of fiber. With most people not getting enough fiber in their diet, raspberries are an excellent way to increase fiber intake. The fiber in raspberries helps to balance your blood sugar and reduce cravings and hunger. They are also low in calories which makes them a great choice for dessert smoothies (without added sugar), as a snack, lightly sweetened with a natural sweetener like stevia or maple syrup. Keep in mind that there are some who claim that raspberry ketones, a compound derived from raspberries, can trigger weight loss in some way, but there's no evidence of this.
Blueberries are always a great choice for weight loss because they are very low in calories, rich in fiber like raspberries, as well as antioxidants. They contain organic chemicals called polyphenols which can stimulate fat metabolism. They are also a great choice for pre-diabetic patients or diabetics because although they are slightly sweet, they are very low in calories and can actually help to stabilize your blood sugar. They have a low glycemic index as well, meaning that they break down slowly and don't spike your insulin levels.
