Phase 2 HCG Diet Recipes - Steak with Tomato Sauce
This is a simple and filling recipe for Phase 2 safe HCG diet steak with tomato sauce. The sauce goes great with the steak, but it is optional if you prefer using other HCG diet vegetables. Both recipes are included, and you should be sure to use very lean steak with this recipe. A list of approved cuts of beef are included with the Nu Image Medical HCG diet guide and they include top round steak, sirloin tip, or top sirloin. Be careful to avoid using a fatty cut of beef as it can definitely affect your diet and the speed of your weight loss

This recipe is for 2 servings to make your cooking more efficient but you can scale it up to 3 or 4 servings to make meals for a few days. It's a good idea to mix up your HCG diet protein choices so that you aren't eating the same type of protein during the diet, and this offers you another quality beef recipe that you can use along with the many seafood and chicken recipes that we provide on our blog and in our recipe guide.

This recipe is for sirloin tip steak and the calorie calculation is for that cut of steak, so if you decide to use a different cut be aware that the calorie total may be slightly different. This recipe accounts for 1 HCG diet protein and 1 HCG diet vegetable serving.

Ingredients - Tomato Sauce:

  • 2 tomatoes, cut into large chunks
  • ¼ tsp. onion powder
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. basil, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients - Steak:

  • 200 grams of sirloin tip steak, cut into small pieces
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • ¼ tsp. cumin
  • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions - Tomato Sauce:

  1. Put tomatoes and water into a small pan.
  2. Season with garlic, onion powder, basil and parsley and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. On medium heat cook mixture and stir constantly with a wooden spatula.
  4. Mash the tomatoes into small pieces while cooking, about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Set aside.

Directions - Steak:

  1. Season steak with spices.
  2. In a non-stick pan, cook steak on medium high heat about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  3. Add tomato sauce and cook another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and serve.
