This is a fast and convenient recipe for an HCG diet strawberry smoothie that works great as a quick snack or other type of snack on the HCG diet. This recipe is easy to follow and literally takes just a few minutes to prepare, and it is particularly low in calories so that you don't have to worry about eating too many servings of this one. This smoothie is very refreshing and citrusy and it may become one of your favorites.
It is flavored with natural stevia which has no calories, and you can increase the sweetener as much as you want. Use truvia or another natural stevia sweetener without any additives whenever possible. It's a perfect weight loss snack while you are getting through the sometimes challenging phase 2 of the diet, and it's always a good idea to have several smoothie recipes at your disposal just in case you start to have challenges with this phase of the diet. Remember that you are limited to about 500 calories per day while on the diet, and two fruit servings. This recipe is for one fruit serving but you can increase it very easily if you have a normal sized blender. It takes just about 1 minute to prepare, and you can freeze the leftovers if you can't finish it all. At just 37 calories per serving it's incredibly low in calories and will hardly affect your diet while helping you stick to your Phase 2 requirements and getting you through the more challenging parts of the diet.
Works perfectly with either frozen or fresh strawberries, but note the ingredient changes for each type below:
- 6-7 fresh strawberries or 6-7 frozen strawberries, stems removed
- 1 cup of ice (if you use fresh strawberries) or 1 cup of filtered water (if you use frozen strawberries)
- 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp. lemon zest (optional)
- Put all ingredients in a blender.
- Mix until well blended
- Serve and enjoy!
