Smoothies are an easy to make meal or snack option on the HCG diet and take just a few minutes to make. When you're in a hurry and don't have time to cook they can be a lifesaver and help you avoid messing up your diet protocol. Below are some fast and easy HCG safe dessert and smoothie recipes that only use ingredients allowed during Phase 2 (the very low-calorie phase) of the diet.
This strawberry smoothie is simple but delicious and is a great way to get one of your fruit servings in the form of a refreshing drink. The basil adds a unique sweet anise flavor but can be removed if it doesn't sound appealing to you.
Servings: 1 fruit
This is a nice refreshing citrus smoothie that only counts for one of your fruit servings. It's packed with Vitamin C and a good option to help you get through that difficult first week of the diet. Tip: put the oranges in the freezer for about half an hour prior to making this so that they are slightly frozen for a sorbet-like texture.
Servings: 1 fruit
This is a great breakfast smoothie that you can pretty much drink to your heart's content because it has very few calories per serving. Make use of your extra coffee or espresso to make this smoothie or brew it throughout the day to help with your food cravings and give you an extra bit of energy. You can substitute toffee flavored stevia in this recipe for a toffee chocolate smoothie (remove the mint leaf if you do this).
These spiced apple slices make a great dessert during phase 2 and don't take much time to make, and they are a great snack idea as well. You can change the spices however you want in this recipe and you can also use orange slices instead of apple slices with this recipe.
Servings: 1 fruit
This applesauce recipe is HCG safe and makes two fruit servings. It is another great dessert or snack option and this one takes just minutes to make like the other recipes. You can also increase the number of apples in this recipe to make several servings, remember that each apple counts as one fruit serving and that you can have up to two fruit servings every day.
Servings: 2 fruit
These chocolate strawberries are guilt-free and are a satisfying dessert option. They are made with chocolate stevia which can be found at health food stores or purchased online. They can be served immediately or frozen for more of a sorbet-like texture. You can also substitute oranges or apples in this recipe.
This vanilla sauce goes great with any of the HCG diet fruit choices (strawberries, oranges, apples, or grapefruit) and adds more sweetness and flavor to the fruits without almost no extra calories. This is also a great sauce to add more flavor to many of the HCG diet smoothies. Note: if you refrigerate this sauce you can heat it back up with a few seconds in the microwave to save time.
Even if you haven't started on the diet yet you can try these recipes out to see if you like them and pick out a few favorites. Hopefully, they will help you stay on course with your HCG diet, and you should always adjust them based on your taste and preferences as necessary. Remember that it is important to have a set of favorite recipes that you can rely on during your diet so that you don't have to resort to eating anything that isn't allowed.
