HGH Work for Weight Loss?

HGH, or human growth hormone, has recently been used as an anti-aging supplement and its popularity is increasing. HGH is a naturally occurring hormone that is produced by the anterior pituitary gland throughout life.

The body's production of the hormone starts declining at around the age of 25-30 gradually, and declines at a rate of about 12-14% per decade of life. It serves many important functions, and the decline in the body's natural production of the hormone is thought to cause many aging symptoms such as decreased muscle mass, increased body fat, wrinkled skin, decreased energy levels, decreased libido and more.

There is a bit of controversy over whether or not the hormone can cause weight loss either directly or indirectly. Some (perhaps dangerously) believe that it can be used as a weight loss treatment, while many people believe that the weight loss effects of the hormone have to do with its impact on body fat and muscle mass.

HGH therapy may cause muscle gains and fat loss

The purpose of human growth hormone therapy in the vast majority of cases is not for weight loss specifically, but to treat all of the aging symptoms that may be related to a decline in hormone production.

Studies have shown, however, that the treatment can most definitely result in fat loss. Since body fat levels increase due to a decline in HGH, once the hormone is replaced, the body responds by decreasing fat stores and increasing muscle mass.

It isn't necessarily true that human growth hormone  leads to weight loss in a similar was as HCG which actually metabolizes fat. Instead, HGH may lead to body fat loss, which has been shown in several studies, along with muscle gain.

A study found that human growth hormone increases muscle mass

A study that used synthetic human growth hormone that was published in the 1990 New England Journal of Medicine found that injections of the hormone increased muscle mass an average of 8.8 percent for participants while decreasing body fat 14 percent without any exercise at all.

This study proved that the hormone is effective at correcting at least two conditions that normally occur with aging: reduced muscle mass and increased body fat.

Although the participants did not exercise, it is usually advisable to exercise, and muscle mass increases and fat loss results from exercise are better when HGH is used as an anti-aging supplement.

Weight loss should not be the primary goal of the  therapy

In the majority of cases, weight loss should not be the main goal for any type of HGH therapy. The treatment is usually reserved for those who have declining levels of the hormone, or for people with pituitary gland issues that result in a lower amount of the hormone being produced.

There are several other weight loss treatments available that specifically have the goal of weight reduction, such as the human chorionic gonadotropin diet, which is one of the most effective diets for weight loss available anywhere. If a person needs to lose weight, they will usually be directed to a diet plan or an alternative that focuses on reducing weight.

The treatment may improve exercise performance

One benefit of human growth hormone is that exercise performance often increases. Again, this should not be the primary goal of treatment, but a person who is using it an anti-aging treatment can benefit from the dramatic increase in exercise performance and energy levels. In many cases, patients have a much higher stamina and tolerance for exercise.

Not only can exercise performance increase, but as previously mentioned, you will usually see faster muscle gains and a faster reduction in fat levels with exercise. So, if a person exercises while undergoing this treatment they will likely experience faster results and they should exercise to get the most out of the treatment unless advised otherwise by their medical provider.

Diet is always important for fat loss

Regardless of whether a person is supplementing with HGH or not, diet is one of the most important factors for weight loss. If a person's diet is high in starches, grains and simple carbohydrates, they will always put on weight unless they are exercising enough to burn excess calories.

Diet must always be considered in any weight loss treatment, and in many cases human growth hormone therapy does not include a specific diet. The main purpose of the therapy is prevent aging by reversing or slowing down the progression of certain age related symptoms, and as a result diet is not a main focus, nor is nutrition (in most cases). There are, however, several hormone diets like the HCG diet that can be used for weight loss.

There are many benefits to the therapy

Human growth hormone therapy has several health benefits aside from fat loss and muscle gain. These effects are desirable of course, but it also reduces wrinkles, increases libido, increases energy levels, improves metabolism, improves the immune system, improves bone density, improves heart and kidney functioning, increases hair growth, and more.

These are all welcome benefits, however it should be noted that the purity of the hormone and the type of hormone used is a consideration. For instance, synthetic hormones have been proven to not be as effective as natural hormones or bioidentical hormones.

Bioidentical hormones are preferable no matter what the goal is

No matter what the goal of hormone treatment is, bioidentical hormones should be used whenever possible. Synthetic hormones have been associated with undesirable effects. In the case of human growth hormone, some people have experienced abnormal bone growth, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other effects when the hormone used is not natural.

Nu Image Medical uses Sermorelin, which is a hormone precursor, and this treatment stimulates natural production of HGH. It is one of the safest and most natural methods to increase production of the hormone without unwanted side effects.

Weight loss is possible with the right treatment plan

Weight loss can be included as a part of an anti-aging treatment plan. For instance there may be a round of human growth hormone treatment which is not ongoing unless advised by a medical doctor, and this treatment can be followed by a round of the HCG diet.

A licensed medical facility that specializes in hormone diets and treatment such as Nu Image Medical can give the proper advice on what to do depend on the patient's situation. If there are weight loss goals, the HCG diet is usually recommended, as it is one of the safest and fastest ways to lose body fat.

Sermorelin is usually only recommended for patients who believe that they may have a deficiency, and there is a blood test at the start of the diet to ensure that there really is a deficiency.
