What If You Miss An HCG Injection?

A lot of HCGers often ask, "what if I  miss an HCG injection?" This question is very common on the HCG diet, and it can be very challenging to remember to take an injection every day, especially if you are not used to taking daily medication.

The best thing to do first and foremost (if you realize that you may have missed an injection) is not to panic. A lot of people tend to think that they have "messed up the diet" at this point and that they must restart again. This is not necessary.  Remember, HCG stays in your system for up to 3 days after your last HCG dose. So there is still plenty of HCG circulating in your system to help you continue to adhere to the diet properly and continue to see weight loss.

The second thing to consider is whether or not you should take the injection once you remember. This answer really varies case by case... If you cannot remember whether or not you have given yourself the HCG injection, then it is best to hold off until the next morning. This will keep you from accidentally double dosing. While accidentally taking more HCG is typically not harmful, it will not increase weight loss, and may leave you without enough hormone to fully complete your round. HCG injectable doses are specifically measured to render the exact amount.

On the other hand, if you know that you missed your HCG shot, and if it's still early on in the day, feel free to go ahead and take your injection. If it's mid afternoon or later in the evening, it's probably best to go ahead and wait until tomorrow's regular injection time in the morning. Now, if you panicked perhaps, and went ahead and took the injection in the afternoon, don't worry. This will by no means harm you or the diet, but it is best (for future reference) that the HCG dose be given around the same time each day....preferably in the morning. Similar to any other scheduled medication, it's best to try not to give doses too close together or back to back if you can help it. This way, levels of HCG stay consistent and therapeutic in your body. (In other words, not too much HCG or too little in your system).

And lastly, if you have missed your HCG injection, it's important to take action to make sure that is doesn't keep happening. You should always take your HCG injection in the morning. A good rule to help you remember would be to take your injection immediately after your morning weigh-in. An even better way, might be to keep a chart near your HCG or near the scale so that the date and time of your injection can be easily recorded.
