500 calories per day is simply not enough energy for exercise of any type including Crossfit, and if you do this type of intense workout you may end up hurting your progress. Read more below about the HCG diet and Crossfit and some tips for going about this form of exercise while you are on the diet.
After the very low calorie diet portion which only lasts for 3 or 6 weeks you can continue with Crossfit or your regular exercise routine. You may not want to jump right back into it because you may still be on a restricted calorie intake during Phase 3.
Many people stick to about 800 to 1,200 calories per day during this phase as they transition back into their normal diet. Although you can certainly continue working out during this phase because of the fact that you'll have enough energy, you may want also gradually increase your workout intensity rather than getting right back into strenuous workouts.
Remember that you will have taken a three or six week break from exercising during Phase 2, and you might feel like you are capable of jumping right back into your workout routine but you will most likely need some sort of transition back into your regular workouts.
You can scale your workouts at Crossfit so that you aren't going at the same intensity as you were before and gradually work your way back up, and it shouldn't take you more than a few weeks to get back to where you were before you took a break for the diet. You can discuss this with your trainer at Crossfit and come up with a routine that will be more suitable for you after you start back up again, and you can also discuss your nutritional needs with your medical provider.
Losing weight is a great idea for making Crossfit and other intense exercises a whole lot easier. Crossfit and similar group fitness classes often require a combination of strength training, stretching and cardio exercises.
By losing weight, you will find that it is much easier to have the endurance that you need for the long workouts of the day which can be very taxing even for those at a healthy weight, and can be extremely difficult if you are carrying around extra weight. As soon as you start back up again you'll find that you are tolerating your workouts much better and you won't have excess weight on your joints that can cause a wide range of physical problems.
You'll most likely be able to recover more quickly from your workouts, and once you get back in shape after a week or two you will very likely break several personal records and finish your exercises faster than you ever have.
Losing just 10 pounds can make a world of difference when you are trying to exercise, but the HCG diet can help you realistically lose anywhere from 15 to 40 pounds or more. This massive amount of weight loss is not easy to accomplish with just exercise, and taking a three to six week break from Crossfit to lose this weight is well worth the time and effort, because you can start right back up as soon as the second phase of the diet is finished.
Crossfit and other workout routines are not very effective when you aren't following them with the proper diet. Diet plays a huge role in how much weight you gain or lose, how quickly you recover from your workouts and more.
If your Crossfit routine isn't combined with a healthy diet you may find that you are still putting on weight or don't have the body that you want, in spite of being able to handle strenuous Crossfit WODs and exercises. In this case you can very likely benefit from a round of the HCG diet.
The diet can help reset your cravings for food so that you aren't constantly craving junk food or low quality foods. Most dieters find that they don't crave the same foods as before after they finish one round, and they find that they actually want to eat more fruits and vegetables.
Part of this has to do with the way that the diet resets your hormones and metabolism. In many cases, junk food addictions are the result of developing a psychological addiction to the effect that those foods have on your brain and body when you eat them.
The HCG diet helps to break that addiction by basically forcing you to stick to healthy whole foods for a long enough time that your body and brain start to reset, and you'll often find that you won't even want to touch processed food after the diet is over. This will only make your Crossfit workouts easier.
In some cases you may want to wait until Phase 3 is over before starting Crossfit again because of the fact that you'll still be on a partially calorie restricted diet. Talk to your medical provider about whether or not you should increase your calorie intake beyond what is recommended during Phase 3 if you want to resume your Crossfit or other exercise routine after the very low calorie diet.
