Vacation

I have a vacation coming up. Here is my plan. Please tell me if this sounds right. I ordered 40 troche from Nuimage. I will take 20 troche and do the 3 days of VLCD that follow. 23 days total Then, I will go into phase 3 low carb for about 11 days while vacationing. When I get home I will do the other 20 days of HCG troches and then finish the diet according to protocol. Dr. Simeon mentions this break in his book. I believe if the break is under two weeks this is ok. I'm just looking for a second opinion. Does this sound ok to you? FYI, after my 1st 6 days I have lost 9 lbs. Unbelievable!!! I have had very little hunger. Just a twinge now and then which I can easily ignor.

Excellent progress! The program must be done for a minimum of 23 days for proper resetting of the Hypothalamus, so your theory has some value. Although we would like you to go straight through, due to your circumstances, you have no option but to follow your suggested path. Now, vacations do not normally coincide with proper diet, so hopefully you can maintain the strictness of phase 3. You will have to go directly into the phase 3 maintenance program for 3 weeks. Not following this is like roulette, you have a 50/50 chance of success. Maintenance is the most important factor when keeping the weight off for good. Increasing your foods and calories too quickly can alter the long term effects. So, in conclusion, we would suggest following the phase 3 portion of our eBook for 3 weeks, then beginning the program all over again. Hope this helps, and have a great vacation! NI Team

Thanks for your reply. I will do the full 3 weeks of maintenance before starting the HCG again. I think I will be ok on vacation. I have done low carb diets while on vacation before so i know how to order food in a restaurant and will carry my own snacks. I am hoping that I won't be overly hungry. That is my biggest worry. That is when i tend to give in to bad choices. Is it ok if i choose to eat foods in phase 3 that are low carb enough to keep me in ketosis so I won't be hungry? I know phase 3 already has no starches or sugar so I'm thinking if I am careful about fruit I will stay in ketosis. Or are we suppose to be out of ketosis during this phase??? Is there an appetite suppressant that actually works that you could recommend just in case I need it? Thanks.

On phase 3 you slowly introduce starches, fat and sugars into your body over the 3 week period, so you will be out of ketosis at that point. There are appetite suppressants such as phentermine, but we do not offer that to our patients. Over the counter versions may work that can be found in GNC or Vitamin Shoppe.
