before you place the syringe tip into the bottle of liquid....pull back a little bit on the plunger. This will pull air into the syringe to inject into the bottle and help to push the liquid into the syringe. Once the syringe tip is in the bottle of liquid, push in the plunger to push the air into the bottle. Then slowly pull back on the plunger to pull fluid from the bottle (make sure the bottle is tipped upside down so all the liquid is covering the needle). If you get an area where there is air and no liquid, simply push that amount of air back into the bottle again and slowly pull back to get liquid. Hope this helps.
